ABOUT US

We are a professional performing arts center, providing real training in a kosher way. We hire professionals from outside of the community and familiarize them with our rules and ways. We pride ourselves on making this an open and warm space, where everyone is welcomed and no one is judged.

The arts provide an outlet that allows you to express and release your emotions. We’ve seen many of our students grow and blossom a little more each day, quickly making this their safe space.

ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR

Headshot

Our director, Rivka Nahari, has had many years of training and performing experience in both music and dance.  She began her ballet training at the age of 3 and studied in the pre-professional program at the Academy of Nevada Dance Theater where she continued until her graduation from high school at age 17.  While at the Academy, she performed yearly in the “Nutcracker” ballet and “Cinderella” with the Nevada Dance Theater professional company and danced in numerous performances with the Academy of Nevada Dance Theater Youth Company.  She then continued her dance studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).  In addition to ballet, she has been trained in tap (under the legendary hoofer Henry LeTang), jazz, character, flamenco, contemporary, and hip hop.

Musically, Rivka has been playing the harp professionally since the age of 13.  She has performed with numerous orchestras in Las Vegas and played the harp and celeste for the “Nutcracker” ballet with the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra.  She was a piano major at UNLV while on a full harp scholarship and a voice major at the Mannes College of Music in Manhattan.  Her operatic roles include Oscar (Un ballo in maschera), Mimi (La Boheme), Musetta (La Boheme), Gilda (Rigoletto), Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore), and the High Priestess (Aida).  She has also been a flute player with the Flute Choir of New York and has extensive experience in choir, performing in many of the hotels in Las Vegas and singing back-up for such notable artists as Barry Manilow and Michael Jackson and the Jackson Family. Some of her performance venues include Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and Villa Favard in Florence, Italy.

Being raised in a non-religious home has afforded Rivka the opportunity of studying and performing music and dance to the fullest.  It wasn’t until she was 14 years old that she began to explore her Jewish roots.  It took many years until Rivka was able to find a way to combine the two passions in her life – the arts and Judaism.  Through opening this studio, she has finally found the path to provide performing outlets for herself and others, as well as sharing her professional knowledge with the frum world.
